People tend to give the standard academics a bad reputation because of IB. The standard academics here do not lack in any way, though I can understand how students would feel that way, being around so many IB students. EWHS put me far beyond the academic level of most freshman at college. The music program at EWHS is great, and other activities like drama, art, photography, and drafting are top notch as well. Facilities are excellent, and parent involvement it usually decent (it is great in specific, smaller departments).

My son was supposed to be in special ed but I found nothing "special" about his "ed". He was denied a "FAPE" accomodating his unique and individual needs and he received no "related services". He was placed in the general ed curriculum and I felt it was a set-up for failure. He was treated like a freak by other students and was chronically and continually harrassed by other students for 2 school years. Even though I reported every incident, it was minimized and played down and allowed to continue. He also had an extremely rude IEP manager. He ended up feeling hopeless about school and was diagnosed with depression and now he's on medication for that.
