School Reviews
5 4/15/2016
Since transferring my children from another elementary school in Macon county, to Cartoogechaye elementary school, in November of 2015, both of their grades have went from borderline failing, to one having straight A's, and the other no lower than a high B!! They're actually enjoy school now instead of crying begging to not go! But most importantly, the principal, and every staff member, down to the janitors and lunch ladies, are extremely kind, and helpful to my children. We were use to being made to feel like we were a problem or didn't deserve the same education as others, whereas at Cartoogechaye elementary school we immediately felt welcome, important, and my kids are treated as equals to the other students! Kudos Cartoogechaye, and all the staff!!

However, some argue that not only are these punishments physically harmful, they also are disproportionately administered to students of color. As a result, House democrats have taken up the issue in a new bill that would ban all forms of corporal punishment nationwide.
