School Reviews

2   2/9/2009
Most of the teaching is expected to be done by the parents. Children are sent home with work that has NOT been presented in class. Most of the teachers are there simply to get a paycheck and the lack of concern for the children's education is obvious. The children are taught only the materials which appear on the state tests, which has not proven effective. The schools test scores are appaling. This year many of the children who had done extremely well on their progress reports in previous years have had there grades lowered in an effort to show an improvement in the level of education. If you care about your child's emotional and academic well-being, I would not recommend placing your child in this "institution of learning".

However, some argue that not only are these punishments physically harmful, they also are disproportionately administered to students of color. As a result, House democrats have taken up the issue in a new bill that would ban all forms of corporal punishment nationwide.
