School Reviews

5   2/14/2007
CHS has pretty good academics. Teachers take classes seriously and students get a pretty good education. There are a lot of course offerings as well. It has a very good technical school as well containing automotive, carpentry, culinary and child development. There are many band/ chorus classes, and there are a fair amount of art classes as well. They have several varsity sports teams and a few extracurricular activities including radio, student coucil, yearbook, etc. CHS also has an AFJROTC unit as well. Some students that do well in sports get awarded athletic awards and there aren't many for academics. If you excel in foreign language however, you may be eligible for forign language honors night where a certificate is awarded. The facilities are adequate. There are two cafeterias, two computer labs and a foreign language lab. The gym is quite large also. There are two floors and about 100 classrooms. CHS does have PTSA, but parents typically aren't very involved with the school. However, a newsletter is sent home every few months for all parents to view and tells them what is going on. Overall, CHS is a decent school. Test scores are better than those in towns surrounding it and has pretty good academic ratings.
